Well it was cold and just a sprinkling of rain, but a great little loop marked out by Hayes, Trevor and Ray ensured everyone would have a great time.
It was great to see 8 new members join the club on the weekend, including Garth with family coming all the way from Moore River to join the club and ride his 74 DT1, and it never missed a beat, great effort Garth.
Greg was lucky he had his mate Simon with him otherwise; no-one would have been able to start his XR.
19 riders enjoyed the serenity of the motorplex bush with quite few stories of the sand and sudden change to clay catching a few out. Josh will have to buy a new bike as he got the Kwaka dirty, was shocking to see. Good to see Toby riding again and his partner Sri having a good go.
Rob brought his mate Richard used a measured approach to riding, one loop, one lamington, except Rob forgot to stop, so Richard had his as well. Running repairs to Robs Honda and it started to fly.
The Husqvarna synchronized drifting team invited Hays and Kev to do a loop with. Smiles all round as Big Doug provided entertainment on the big CR390 on the loop. Even to the point he was able to do the same stunt on the same corner on most laps (miss it).
Glen had turned up at the come try day and had no luck injuring his back the night before. This time he broke the kick start on Friday. I made a couple of phone calls Saturday morning, and got him to bring the beautiful CR400 down and with the generosity of Aaron a kick start provided and finally he was able to get the beast out on loop. Thanks to our Husqvarna workshop for all the assistance, it’s what the club is all about, getting bike up and going so members can enjoy the day. Hayes was busy ensuring Greg’s XR’s front wheel would remain in place and Simon was starting it for him, teamwork personified.
Even Toby was able to catch up with Neil on the big 504cc KTM that Toby had sold him as Neil attended his first vinduro. The beast sounded great with Toby grovelling so he could have a ride of it!!!!
